🔍 Searching & Filtering Creatures

Use the Search Bar

Type any part of a creature's name in the search box at the top. Results update instantly as you type.

Example: Type "dragon" to see all dragons, or "anc" to find ancient creatures

Filter by Challenge Rating (CR)

Click the CR filter buttons to show only creatures within specific difficulty ranges:

  • CR 0-4: Low-level encounters
  • CR 5-10: Mid-tier challenges
  • CR 11-16: High-level threats
  • CR 17+: Epic encounters

Filter by Creature Type

Select from dropdown to filter by type: Beast, Dragon, Undead, Humanoid, Aberration, etc.

Toggle Custom Creatures

Use the "Show Custom Only" toggle to view only your custom-created creatures, or turn it off to see SRD creatures.

Combine Filters

Use multiple filters together! Search for "dragon" + CR 17+ to find only ancient dragons.

📖 Viewing Creature Details

Open Creature Modal

Click on any creature card to open the detailed stat block in a modal window.

Read the Stat Block

The modal displays all creature information:

  • Size, Type, Alignment
  • Armor Class (AC) and Hit Points (HP)
  • Speed (walking, flying, swimming, etc.)
  • Ability Scores (STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, CHA)
  • Saving Throws and Skills
  • Damage Resistances, Immunities, Vulnerabilities
  • Senses and Languages
  • Special Abilities
  • Actions and Legendary Actions

Add to Battle Preparation

Use the "Battle Preparation Tabs" feature to add this creature to combat tracking and HP management.

Close Modal

Click the X button at the top right of the modal to close it.

❤️ Using Battle Preparation Tabs

Open Desired Creature Card

Click the creature card you wish to add to the battle tabs section to access HP tracking and combat management.

Add Creatures to Track

Click the "Add To Battle Tab" button at the top of the creature card to add it to your battle tracker.

Apply Damage

For each tracked creature:

  • Click the red "Damage" button
  • Enter damage amount
  • HP automatically decreases
  • Progress bar updates to show remaining HP

Apply Healing

Click the green "Heal" button and enter healing amount. HP cannot exceed maximum.

Add Temporary HP

Click "Temp HP" button to add temporary hit points. Damage is applied to temp HP first.

Reset or Remove

Options for managing tracked creatures:

  • Reset HP: Restores creature to full HP
  • Remove: Removes creature from tracker
  • Clear All: Removes all tracked creatures

💡 Pro Tip: Battle Preparation data is automatically saved to your browser, so you can close and reopen the app without losing your combat progress!

✨ Creating Custom Creatures

Click "+ Add Creature"

Find the "+ Add Creature" button at the bottom right corner of the screen (both mobile and desktop).

Fill in Basic Info

Enter creature's basic statistics:

  • Name (required)
  • Type (beast, humanoid, etc.)
  • Size (tiny, small, medium, large, huge, gargantuan)
  • Alignment
  • Challenge Rating (CR)

Add Combat Stats

Enter:

  • Armor Class (AC)
  • Hit Points (HP)
  • Speed
  • Ability Scores (STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, CHA)

Add Abilities & Actions

Use the text areas to describe special abilities, actions, and legendary actions.

Save Your Creature

Click "Save" to add the creature. It will appear with a purple "CUSTOM" badge.

Edit or Delete

Open a custom creature's detail modal to find Edit and Delete buttons.

💡 Note: Custom creatures are saved locally to your browser/device. They won't sync across different devices or browsers.
